Shine Ministry
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16

Speak Up
By Dena M. Hall

We tend to Speak Up a lot today
Especially if we feel we've been cheated in some way
And we often Speak Up about things that bother us, too
Without even taking time to find out the truth
We'll hold signs and protest feeling full of glory
Without taking time to see both sides of the story
Judge ye not lest ye be judged as well
Remember, good intentions can pave the road to hell
Before we Speak Up in such a way as this
We should make sure it's something our Savior would wish
We should always see things from the other side
Letting scriptures, not our emotions, be our guide
We are called to Speak Up for the poor and the weak
Not because we can't turn the other cheek
God's grace is something we really can't understand
So we must be willing to lend anyone a hand
For there have been times when someone spoke up for me
Even though I may not have appeared too worthy
But they were ready to help me without a doubt
Because that is what Christianity is all about
