Shine Ministry
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16

A Child Shall Lead
By Dena M. Hall
12/5/2010

As adults we tend to think too much
About the lives we must live each day
We get so consumed in worry
That we often lose our way

As adults we quickly lose our tempers
And often refuse to forgive
Which destroys God's hope of Zion
The peaceable kingdom in which we all should live

But a little Child Shall Lead
We must look to them on how to be
Because they just roll with the punches
And always love unconditionally

Isaiah 11:1-10
1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD— 3 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,or decide by what he hears with his ears; 4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together;and a little child will lead them.7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra's den,the young child will put its hand into the viper's nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. 10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious.

This poem is dedicated to my Little Baldies, the brave little warriors fighting childhood cancer that I pray for through Caring Bridge and Care Pages. These kids have humbled me, inspired me, and taught me so much. I will never complain about a bad hair day when they have none. Nor will I complain of a headache when they endure so much each day and continue to smile despite all of the things their little bodies are being put through. Most importantly, they have shown me the true meaning of courage, so I will Neva Div Up (never give up) as one of my sweet ones, ^^Coleman Larson^^ used to say before he earned his angel wings too soon. Their parents are equally remarkable, constantly reminding me to "hug my kids a little tighter," "not take my loved ones for granted," "just be there," and many more valuable lessons. Please remember these children, especially in September, which is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month and wear gold in memory of ^^Coleman^^ and all of the others who are fighting the monster or have earned their ^^angel wings^^ too soon.
