Shine Ministry
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16

Turning to the Lord For Help
By Dena M. Hall

Have a dress or shirt that has to be fastened in the back. Assist a child in putting it on. Now ask them to fasten it. Of course they won't be able to without help. Say that it is alright to ask for help. But some people don't like to ask for help for many reasons. It can be because of pride, they are too stubborn or even afraid. Others may not want to be a bother. Explain that it is ok to ask for help. And when we are in need, God wants us to come to him for help. When I did this exercise, I had my daughter put on the dress. I explained that just as I wouldn't want her to go around all day without her dress fastened hoping she'd come to me for help, the Lord is the same way with us.
