Shine Ministry
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16

Serve Others-Mark 10: 42-45

(Madam is relaxed in her chair. Geeves enters carrying a tray with a teapot and some cups)
Geeves: Good day, Madam, here is your tea.
Madam: Thank you, Geeves, dahling. Geeves, You've been such a wonderful servant to me all these years.Geeves, May I ask you a question?
Geeves: Certainly, Madam.
Madam: I have to know why you like to be a servant. Surely it has to get old, waiting on me hand and foot, Catering to my every need. I mean I hardly do anything for myself. Geeves, I have an itch.
Geeves: Of course, Madam. (scratches her back)
Madam: Thank you, Geeves.
Geeves: My pleasure. You were saying, Madam…
Madam: Oh yes. I need to know why you like to be a servant.
Geeves: It makes me feel good, Madam…
Madam: (interrupting)Feel Good! Preposterous! How can you possibly feel good humbling yourself so day in and day out.
Geeves: Well Madam, I guess it's because of the wonderful feeling I get knowing that you are happy.
Madam: Really.
Geeves: Of course, Madam. I come from a long line of servants, my father, his father, and so on. At first I
thought my father was nuts, too. But then he quoted a scripture from the bible to me. It was Mark 10, verses 42-45. It said “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many. “Then I realized he was right. It is so much more rewarding to serve others and bring them joy than to rule over them.
Madam: Well in that case, Geeves dahling, you sit down and let me serve you a cup of tea.
Geeves: (protesting)Oh, nonsense madam! I really….
Madam: (pushing him down) I insist. There (pours a cup of tea for them both and sits beside him)relax and have some tea with me.
Geeves: Well, Madam, I do have to say that I rather enjoy this.
Madam: Oh, Geeves, dahling, me too! I had no idea how rewarding it was to serve someone else. From now on Geeves, dahling, we will serve each other.
Geeves: Wonderful Madam!
