Shine Ministry
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:14-16

When Our Children Are Grown

WHEN OUR CHILDREN ARE GROWN

As I sit here, a mother of three
I wonder how the world will be
For my innocent babes
When it's time to go free

What can their future have in store
When you're afraid to open your own front door
When God's children turn on each other
Simply because of their color

When we used to fistfight to settle a score
Now it's with a twenty two or a forty four
I'm not saying to fight is the right way
But at least that person is alive the next day

When all that motivates us is power and greed
We're too selfish to help others in need
Some have more than enough to give
A smile costs nothing and might help someone live

As I sit here, a mother of three
I wonder how the world will be
For my innocent babes
When it's time to go free

Whatever happened to putting yourself in other's shoes
Doing unto others as you'd have done unto you
To err is human, to forgive divine
If we all lived by this, we could get along fine

Let's leave them a world that knows no races
Only caring people with friendly faces
A world without drugs and poverty
Love is the answer, love is the key

Love thy brother like you would your own
Take time to care, let your love be known
You will benefit from these ways shown
And the world will be a better place
When Our Childern Are Grown
